Remove Paint Stains from Your Ed Hardy Belts

It is possible that while you have been painting wearing your Ed Hardy belts that you have found paint stains all over it. While leather is extremely durable, it is very expensive and you will definitely not want to buy another belt. While common sense would have told you to not wear the belt while you were painting, sometimes you will do the complete opposite.

So the question is how to get the paint stains from your Ed Hardy belts without ruining them. If you can catch the paint before it dries then you will make it a lot easier to remove. However, that does not mean that removing dried paint is impossible; you just have to be prepared to spend a lot of time doing it to ensure that you do not ruin the material completely.

There are two different methods that can remove the paint from your belt. You should try one at a time and wait to see if each method has been successful. You may find it difficult but it will definitely be worth it rather than needing to fork out a lot of money for another belt with the Ed Hardy design; after all, they are not the cheapest items on the market.

The first method uses normal dish soup. You will need to put a quarter of a cup of the soap into two cups full of warm water. This water should not be hot because it will damage your Ed Hardy belts but it should not be cold either because this will not remove the paint. You need to ensure that the soap does not contain any bleach as this will damage your belt and also make the colors in the leather fade.

Mix the soap and water together until you can see foam. You will need to do this with a whisk to definitely get the foam just right. You will need the foamy suds to be able to remove the paint; the water will not do. Rub the soap onto the leather with a sponge, in a circular pattern and keep rinsing the soap with the water. You will need to keep doing this until the leather has been cleaned.

You need to clear the suds from the Ed Hardy belts by using some cool water. You will need to do this with a cloth that will not leave any lint behind. Buy some leather cleaner and some conditioner if you can so that you can look after the leather on the belt.

If the soapy water does not work then you will need to use rubbing alcohol instead. Rather than using a sponge, you will need to use a small piece of cotton wool. You should follow the rest of the instructions as before but keep replacing the cotton wool every time rather than washing it in water. You should use the leather conditioner on the Ed Hardy belts to ensure that the leather stays in to shape after cleaning.
